06:10 pm - NOLA Eats 4th Dinner NIght
NOLA Eats is a dining community for food lovers in the Greater New Orleans area. Our Dinner Nights offer the opportunity to try new food, meet new people and have a good time while doing it. Past dinners have been enjoyed at Nirvana, Lola's and Bennachin. For more info about the community, check out nola__eats.

Pictures of the restaurant can be found here. You can get directions here.

If you need transportation to Metairie, let me know.

Please RSVP by Saturday, July 24th.

And as a "thank you" for joining us for dinner, you will also be entered in a drawing for a prize, a small token of my appreciation. Hope to see everyone there!

03:53 pm - bridge lounge wine night...
Tomorrow night (Thurs night), from 5:30 - 10:00, $10.

I've been wanting to go for well over a year, and no one ever antes up to go...so I'm doing it tomorrow night. :)

I know a few of u are already wanting to go, so I guess I'm posting here to get an rsvp for anyone else interested. I'm thinking of maybe hitting Rocky's after, or something where a few people can eat decent for cheap (cheap as in quantity/people, not quality). ;)

03:40 pm - Bacchanal
Bacchanal Fine Wine & Spirits has wine tastings on Saturdays from 11-3. The shop is at 600 Poland (at Chartres) in the Bywater and the phone number is 948-9111.

Chris featured Spanish wines last week. I prefer whites, and the two he served were great. One was a combination of Viura and, I think, Chardonnay. The other was a Txockolina (spelling? - pronounced "Chocolina") -- it was incredible. Very complex and refreshing at the same time. I'm not as fond of red wine, but I thought the Gajo (spelling? again) was very tasty.

Keep in mind, however, that I don't yet know much about wine other than what I like and don't.
